That people from anywhere excitedly attend Con Son – Kiep Bac festival in every autumn has become a habit.
On the first 10 days of September, Con Son – Kiep Bac relics welcomed over 100,000 turns of sightseers and festival attendees
This year, the joy of festival attendance has been multiplied thanks to special folk art activities and many incentives for visitors.
Attention paid to visitors
Visiting Kiep Bac temple right from the beginning of the festival season, Nguyen Thi Hang (Ha Noi), said: "I come here on every autumn festival occasion with my family or friends. I found the relic tidier, cleaner, and clearer this year. I will return in the peak time of the festival several days later to watch trance performances. Hopefully despite great numbers of visitors, such space in the relic can still be preserved."
To satisfy visitors, the Festival Organizing Board has early assigned a team to coordinate with local authorities to strengthen security and order and arrange shops and restaurants in relic sites.
Shops and restaurants were relocated outside Con Son pagoda and Kiep Bac temple to maintain a solemn atmosphere and avoid congestion caused by visitors' trading right at the gates of the temple and pagoda.
At this autumn festival, visitors only need to register to hear free demonstration. This incentive also aims to intensively popularize the festival and relics, helping visitors understand the cultural tradition, history, and ancestors associated with Con Son and Kiep Bac.
Vu Hong Hai from Hai Duong city happily said: "I had read books and newspapers before coming here but cannot remember much. Contemplating scenes and hearing demonstration in person at the same time will help me remember and feel everything better."
Free demonstration during the festival is very meaningful, helping people better understand the relics to have a better sense of protection.
On this occasion, visitors often attend the festival on 10 days with festival activities instead of dispersing in one or two month like the spring festival. Therefore, quite a lot of tourists will flock in a short time, leading to a hike in demands for accommodation and associated services.
To create favorable conditions for arrivals, the Center for Tourism Information and Promotion has coordinated with eight hotels in Chi Linh provincial town and Hai Duong city to carry out a discount program on accommodation and souvenir services for tourists.
The program will last three months, from August to October inclusive, instead of only during the festival.
According to Khong Quoc Tuan, director of the center, the program aims to create favorable conditions for visitors and stimulate demands in autumn, the off-peak period of tourism.
Con Son – Kiep Bac autumn festival is a special highlight of Hai Duong tourism because there are very few places having traditional festivals in this period.

The jubilance and excitement of Con Son – Kiep Bac autumn festival leave an impression on many tourists thanks to a rich and special festival part.
The festival is like a "living museum" gathering a lot of attractive folk art activities.
There will be shows of water puppetry, a typical folk art of villages associated with rice cultivation, at Kiep Bac lake at this year's autumn festival. Performances there often lure numerous visitors, especially children.
A traditional boat racing and army performances on the Luc Dau river are also items always expected at the autumn festival and bearing the hallmark of the Tran dynasty, a reign with many glorious waterway-related victories.
Tourists can not only witness a beautiful scene of boats decorated with colorful flags and flowers on the river and 300 disciples of Nhat Nam school performing but also feel a liberal atmosphere and the sportsmanship of our forefathers in a heroic period of the nation.
The trance performance festival is also a folk activity expected by many visitors to the autumn festival.
Besides, there will be art activities during the festival like quan ho (love duet) singing at Con Son – Kiep Bac relic sites, Nam Tao and Bac Dau temples.
These animated festival parts with folk colors have contributed to forming a very typical traditional festive atmosphere of Con Son – Kiep Bac relic sites whenever autumn comes.
